Born in Chelsea, he was raised in Jamaica Plain and lived on Martha's Vineyard for several years before moving to Beverly Hills, Calif., and then to Eugene. He was a licensed contractor who owned and operated his own carpentry business.
Mr. Eriksen attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Survivors include his parents; his companion, Yumi Nakamura of Japan; two brothers, Ralph H. Eriksen Jr. of South Boston and Karl A. Eriksen of Marshfield; a sister, Joy Eriksen Crowley of Marshfield; two nieces and many cousins.
He was the grandson of the late Olivia Fortes Almeida.
