Lewis Dwight Blevins, age 89, of Miller, Missouri, passed away at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2016, at the Mt. Vernon Place Care Center, after a long illness.

He was born May 25, 1926, in Chesapeake, the son of the late Frank and Josephine (Hicklin) Blevins.

Jack was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during World War II.

He retired from the Carnation Can Company in Mt. Vernon and was a lifelong cattle farmer and a member of the First Baptist Church in Miller.

On July 8, 1988, he married Peggy Reser in Harrison, Arkansas.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 27 years, Peggy; one daughter, Pam Blevins; three sons, Scotty Blevins, Roger (Kristi) Blevins and Marty (Misty) Blevins all of Miller; four step children, Sandy (Ed) Eppenger of Venture, California, Patsy (Mike) Sprowls of Humansville, Missouri, Kenny (Debbie) McShane of Omaha, Nebraska and Wendy (Bill) Garver of Bolivar, Missouri; one brother, George (Jean) Blevins of Miller; one sister, Thelma Hodges, of Mt. Vernon; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service under the direction of the Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home in Miller will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at the Round Grove Baptist Church.

Burial will follow at the Miller Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2016, also at the church.

Memorial donations may be made to the Three River Hospice West in Mt. Vernon, in care of the funeral home.
