Faye Beth Schwartz Baer O'Byrne
passed away peacefully on Monday,
January 4th after a long illness.
Her family and loved ones were by
her side. She is survived by her
loving children, Cheryl Baer
Honeycutt (BJ) and S. Charles Baer Jr.
(Carolyn), four adoring grandchildren,
Cally Ann Baer Graham, Sara Baer
Cleto, Rachel Brooks Baer, and
5 Charles Benjamin Baer (Chase),
and her beloved dog Tasha. She was
pre-deceased by her beloved hus-
band, William T. O'Bryne, and her be-
loved first husband, S. Charles Baer,
and her dear parents, Sylvia and
Theodore Schwartz.
She was born December 15th, 1928
and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She
attended Miss Newman's School in
Detroit and graduated from House-in-
the Pines in Norton, Massachu-
setts. She attended the University of
Michigan. Faye Beth married S.
Charles Baer in 1947 and had two
children. He passed away in 1991.
In 1993, she married William T. "Fiery"
O'Byrne.
Faye Beth was a uniquely passion-
ate, dynamic and enthusiastic com-
munity leader. She had leadership
roles with many St. Louis charities
including the Humane Society of
Missouri, Central Institute for the Deaf.
The Museum of the Dog, the St. Louis
County Library Foundation Board
and Women of Achievement. Her
greatest passion was the Humane
Society of Missouri where she served
as an officer of the Board of Directors
and held key positions in all major
initiatives for more than 30
years. In earlier years she volun-
teered with the Red Cross, the Jew-
ish Federation, and the Jewish Hos-
pital Auxiliary
The family would like to extend
their special thanks and appreciation
to Sherri Watkins, Rosemary Cald-
well, and her other devoted caregivers
for their dedication and extraordinary
care.
Friends and family of Faye Beth
believe an F. Scott Fitzgerald quote
describes her beautifully: "You are
the finest, loveliest, tenderest and
most beautiful person I have ever
known--and even that is an under-
statement."
Services: A Memorial Mass will be
celebrated at The Church of The
Annunziata in Ladue, Clayton at Cella
Road on Friday, January 8 at 11 a.m.
A reception will follow the service.
