Edith Bennett was a Bible teacher and missionary. She spent many years traveling to schools teaching students of God's love. Many people recall her from their childhood schooldays throughout Mingo County, West Virginia. Miss Bennett was devoted to visiting classrooms each week in area schools playing Christian songs on her small, brown, portable Magnus organ, and teaching her lessons using vivid artwork on a felt board. She was a member of Parsley Bottom Free Will Baptist Church for many years until her death.
