Jacksonville - Memorial services for SFC Lauton N. Hall, U. S. Army Retired, 87, will be Saturday, December 8, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the K. L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel with the Rev. Jesse Barksdale officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to services. SFC Hall died Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at Noland Hospital in Anniston. SFC Hall is survived by two granddaughters, Jessica A. (Harrison) Zimmer and her husband, Claude, of Jacksonville and Kimberly M. Harrison, of Jacksonville; a grandson, Joe S. Hall, of Fort Collins, Colo.; four great-grandchildren, Parker Lauton Wade, Emmie Cheyanne Wade, Katelyn Hall and Rebecca Hall; a sister-in-law, Yvonne Thompson of Thomaston, Ga.; a nephew, Hobart E. Adams of Barbourville, Ky. and other nephews and nieces. SFC Hall served his country for 23 years in the U.S. Army in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He later retired from the Jacksonville Police Department after 17 years service. He was a member of Hiram Lodge #42 F&AM, Alabama Police Officers Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Ex-POW Association. SFC Hall was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy M. (Craven) Hall; his son, Dennis L. Hall and a daughter, Cheryl A. (Hall) Griffith. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society of Calhoun County, 1100 Ireland Way, Suite 201, Birmingham, AL 35205. K. L.
