Services for DANNY RAYMOND MCWAIN of Pottsboro, Tx..58 year old disabled veteran who died Monday, August 21, 2006 in Collin County Texas, will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, August 26, 2006 in the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel.

Jerry Roger , chaplain of the Texoma Detachment Marine Corps League will officiate and will be assisted by Commandant Charles Geiger.

MSgt. (Ret) Dennis Lee, friend of Danny McWain will offer the eulogy.

The burial will follow at Van Alstyne Cemetery and a U.S. Marine Honor Guard will conduct military graveside honors.

DANNY was born on March 18, 1948 in Longview, Texas the son of Raymond McWain and Marie Pruitt McWain.

He moved to Van Alstyne at a young age and graduated from Van Alstyne High School. He then attended Grayson County College before enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps in September of 1966 where he eventually served in the Vietnam War. As a result of his combat action he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, the Good Conduct Medal, and THREE Purple Hearts.

He was a Lance Corporal at the time of his discharge.

Following his honorable discharge from the Marines he moved to Dallas where he was a tire salesman and then moved to Pottsboro, Tx about 10 years ago where much of that time he has been medically disabled.

He was a member of the Pottsboro VFW Lakeside Post 2873 and was a former member of the Texoma Detachment Marine Corps League of Texoma.

He is survived by his mother; Marie McWain of Sherman, Tx:

Daughter; Michelle Sullivan of Conroe, Tx:

sister; Mariann McWain of Tom Bean

and four grandchildren.

He was preceeded in death by his father Raymond McWain in August of 1993 and

two brothers; Michael David McWain in August of 1985 and Robert Gene McWain in August 1989.

The family will receive friends from 7:00pm - 8:00pm Friday ecening at Waldo Funeral Home.....
