Ann Gage grew up in Cumberland, Maryland and graduated from Allegany High School (class of 1957). She graduated from Ohio University (BA, class of 1961) and Indiana University (MA, speech therapy). Her two daughters Channing and Caprial, four grandchildren, brother, and former husband are still living as of February 2021. She worked as a speech therapist, then spent most of her life after college in suburban Denver, Colorado, where she was a special education teacher in the Cherry Creek School District. After retirement, she moved to Portland, Oregon to be near one of her daughters, where she died. The cause of death was a broken neck after a fall on the stairs.
Her ashes were scattered by family members on July 2, 2017 in the Colorado Rockies at Shrine Mountain Pass along Shrine Ridge Trail west of Vail Pass, Lat. 39.5356, Lon. -106.2483, in Eagle County, Colorado. This is a beautiful place she loved.
