WINCHSTER, Ind. -- Margie Ann Rickert, 82, of Winchester, died Monday, Sept. 4, 2006, at her residence after an extended illness.

She was born on Sept. 1, 1924, in Greenville, Ohio, to Lawrence and Florence (Heuss) Sipe. She was a 1942 graduate of Union City High School.


She was a homemaker, but had also worked for Rickert Oil Co. and Merchants National Bank in Muncie.

She was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she filled the offices of deacon and trustee. She also was a member of the Presbyterian Women's Association. She was a member of the Delta Theta Tau Sorority and also an alumnus of the Beta Nu Chapter.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Phil Rickert; a son, Mark (wife Shirley) Rickert of Winchester; a daughter, Karen Pittman (fiancé Wayne Hay) of Winchester; a brother, Richard (wife Grace) Sipe of Wichita, Kan.; three grandsons, Brandon (wife Kristine) Rickert, Jeremy Rickert and Cole Pittman; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, 2006, at the First Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Franklin St., Winchester, with Rev. Bill Carr officiating. Burial will follow in Saratoga Cemetery. Calling hours will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church.

Memorial contributions can be made to the First Presbyterian Church.
