Private First Class Kamm was a rifleman in the 3rd Platoon, Company F, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division. He was Killed in Action during an assault on outposts "Reno" and "Vegas" on March 27, 1953.

Private First Class Kamm was awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Combat Action Ribbon, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.
