Dean R. Harbach, 76, of Linden, passed away March 3, 2010 at home.

He was born Feb. 17, 1934 in Jersey Shore, a son of Philip J.B. and Catherine J. Reese Harbach. Upon his father's death, Dean began providing for his family at a very young age.

Dean was the husband of the former J. Dawn Harer with whom he shared 49 years of marriage.

He was a life long member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, where he served as a board member.

Dean was a meat cutter and department head for A&P for 30 years. He also worked for the Bureau of Forestry, The Bureau of State Parks and was an Assessor for Lycoming Co. and 21st Century Appraisal. He was a Committeeman and served as Piatt Township Tax collector for two terms. He was honored and elected by the Pennsylvania State Senate in to the Pennsylvania Voter Hall of Fame for having voted in over 50 consecutive November elections.

He was a life member of the NRA. He was a member of Sports Touring Club of Williamsport, and a 25-year member of the Porsche Club of American.

Dean enjoyed model railroads and hunting. He made several trips to Wyoming and Colorado with friends to hunt. At a younger age he enjoyed trapping.

He is survived by his wife J. Dawn Harbach; daughters, Denise A. (Charles) Diggan and Darlene R. (Jerry) Wesneski, both of Williamsport; a brother, Phillip G. Harbach of Jersey Shore; a grandson, Sean Diggan; three granddaughters, Patti Diggan, Angela and Danielle Wesneski.

Dean was predeceased by a sister, Phyllis Brosha, and a brother, Glen Harbach.

Relatives and friends are invited to Dean's Life Celebration service Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 1 p.m. from the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, "a Life Celebration Home," 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, Pa. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be held at his family's convenience.

Memorial contributions may be made to either Susquehanna Home Health Hospice, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701 or Trinity United Methodist Church, 1407 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, PA 17740.
