She was a member of Eddyville First Baptist Church, a former secretary for Kentucky Asphalt and a retired secretary for Southern States Asphalt.

She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Thweatt Breedlove of Eddyville and Vicki Bynum of Lyon County; one son, Ricky Mayes of Henderson; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Conley Croft of Eddyville and Billy Croft of Calvert City; one sister, Martha Wilson of Eddyville, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Mayes. Her parents were Charles "Charlie" Croft and Virginia Parrish Croft.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Lakeland Funeral Home Chapel in Eddyville with Rev. Tim Perdue officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Hills Cemetery in Eddyville.
