Semerida (spelled various ways on documents!) "Madie" Bell Nance was daughter of Ivy/Ivan Nance and Mary Lewis. She married first Herbert Smith on 24 Nov 1889 in Monitau County, Missouri. 1910 census Semerida and Herbert were living in Encinosa, San Miguel County, NM (Semerida was shown as having 3 children but 0 living.); 1920 census they are living in St. Louis, MO; not found on 1900 or 1930 census yet. Sometime between 1920 and 1926 Semerida and Herbert moved to California. Herbert died in 1926. Sometime between then and 1933 "Madie" married a Neri Sipe Bailey with whom she is listed in the 1933 and other City Directories in the Los Angeles area. On the 1940 cenus Semerida and Neri are living in Hawthorne, Los Angeles County, CA. Death cert states Semerida was buried in the "Inglewood Park Cemetery" 22 April 1947. Neri died in 1966 in Los Angeles County, California-burial unknown.
