Schooling: 1-8 country school southwest of Faith, Freshman year, Spearfish High School (1936), Faith High School (1937), Sturgis High School (1938-1940), and attended normal training in Corning, IA, receiving her teaching certificate in September, 1942.
Places lived: family homestead at Faith, Hereford, Stugis, Chester, MT, Hungry Horse MT, and back to Strugs,
Work History: Teaching at Wetz School in Meade County for a year, Lee's Five and Dime (1955), JC Penny, purchased an irrigated farm south of Newell (1958-1968), larger farm/ranch purchased in Hereford (1968), and retired to Sturgis in 1985.
Hobbies and activities: maintaining a huge garden, making her legendary pickles (two of her grandson's carry on this tradition, with one mastering it), extensive traveling (driving their motor home to may ares of the US, spending 5 summers in Alaska and Canada, spending many winters in southern Texas, visited relatives in Sweden, and took in sights of Norway and Denmark), hard worker, dedicating much of her life to caring for her grandchildren, sewing, baking, and cooking.
Memberships: Hereford Sewing Circle, South Dakota Farmers Union, served on the District School Board from 1949-1953, member of Church of God of Prophecy, Sturgis, (cooking for at the Church Youth Camp, having Holloween hayrides, Newell)
Visitation at Kinkade Funeral Chapel with internment at Bear Butte Cemetery.
