Rosemary Patricia Sims, 95, passed away in her sleep Monday, January 18, 2016, at Wesley Acres in Des Moines.

Rosemary was born January 1, 1921, in Columbus, OH, to James and Edith Bateson.

She married Edward Sims in Des Moines where they made their home and raised their five children.

Rosemary's joy and love in life was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Rosemary is survived by her four daughters, Sue (Paul) DeGeest of West Des Moines, Penny Sims of Olathe, KS, Tammy Sims of Overland Park, KS and Cherie (Mike) Lindemoen of Des Moines; seven grandchildren, Sean (Danaka) DeGeest of Des Moines, Danielle (William) Harvey of Huxley, Tera (Aaron) Dupuy of Des Moines, Dusty (Kik) Sherrod of UT, Kyle (Cassie) Sherrod of Kansas City, MO, Katie (Ian) Tuttle of Des Moines, Melody Tuttle of Chicago, IL, and Hannah (Dustin) Harmsen of Des Moines; great-grandchildren, Vaun DeGeest, Zachary, Mia and Sophie Harvey, Aidan and Nora Dupuy, and Kaylee and Allysia Madson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her son, Michael, her parents and five siblings.

A celebration of life Mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 23, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Private inurnment will held at a later date.

Contributions may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
