HINSDALE, BERKSHIRE Co., MA - Mr. Francis E. ("Buster") Baumann Jr., ( 73y ) d: February 17, 1997 - of Springfield died Monday at Baystate Medical Center. He was the vice president of sales for Filmtech Inc. of Westfield for 25 years, and retired in 1992. He had been a 10-year agent for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. of Holyoke. Born in Pittsfield, he was a graduate of St. Joseph's High School, and moved here in 1946. He was a motor machinist's mate second class in the Navy Seabees during World War II, and participated in the Allied invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, and sang in minstrel shows. He was one of the Three Frans. He was an honorary member of the SS Samuel Chase Veterans Reunion Club. He leaves his wife of 50 years, the former Dorothy Randall; two sons, Francis E. 3rd of Feeding Hills, Agawam, and Dr. Louis R. of Elma, N.Y.; a brother, James R., and two sisters, Mary E. Baumann and Elaine Blake, of Hinsdale, Mass.; two grandchildren. END:
