Funeral was held this afternoon for Mrs. Edith M. Bailey, wife of James L. Bailey of 470 Ormond Ave. Sharon. former Sharon Councilman and former Mercer County commissioner, who died at 8:07 a m Saturday (12-7-74) in Sharon General Hospital after an extended illness. She was 82. Mrs Bailey was born in West Middlesex Feb. 13, 1892, to George and Melissa Beithley Foulk, and was a lifelong resident of the valley. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Sharon, a past worthy matron of Order of the Easter Star 242 of Sharon and a member of Endeavor Rebekah Lodge, 367. Surviving, in addition to her husband whom she married May 25, 1909, are two sons. Arthur L. Bailey of Athens, Ga., and James I. Bailey of Sharon. a school director; a daughter, Mrs Carson (Isabel) Stewart of Canfield, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Lowe and Mrs. Effie Gear, both of Sharon, six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A son John George Bailey, preceeded her death. Services conducted by the Rev. Raymond E. Rockwell, pastor of First Baptist Church, Sharon. {herald}
