William F. Dodds was born May 4, 1841 in Illinois Parents unknown. He married Mary Miller Harris, widow of David Harris a civil War Soldier, Nov. 20, 1866 in Richland Co. Ill. He too was a Civil War soldier. Together they had 4 known children: Andrew English (he died age 24), Dora S.( died 5 yrs), James F. (infancy 1873), Marion W. Dodds( died 23 yrs). All buried or gravestone at Calhoun Cemetery. William F. Doods was in the Co. B 24 Ind Inf. , Corp. in Co. C 24 Inf. He was listed as a day worker in 1870 census. He died May 16, 1873 in Bulter Co. Kansas and is buried there with a stone inscription also here. He was 37yrs12ds.
