Mr. Bacik was a resident of Clifton, New Jersey and a parishioner of SS Peter & Paul RO Cathedral, Passaic, New Jersey and was pre-deceased by his loving parents, John and Alice (nee Gusciora) Bacik. His family owned a very popular family restaurant, the "Treat Restaurant" on Market Street, Passaic. This establishment was well known for numerous years as an outstanding restaurant serving good homemade food at reasonable prices and their following of devoted customers extended not only to Passaic but throughout Northern New Jersey.

John learned his trade working at the family business and was a master chef. He loved to cook and his talent as a cook/chef was well known. The passion for food he had and creating different types of cuisine was unique and very creative. John loved to share his gift of cooking with friends, family and helping with rental catered affairs at his church hall. Without John, the church would not have had booked numerous functions and benefited from a vital and critically necessary source of income as he managed the hall and performed catering services on-site. John was a humble man and always offered a pleasant smile to everyone he met. His parish has lost an irreplaceable and very valuable member as he also was reliable, hard-working, kind and considerate, a man who lived and enjoyed his life and made the most of each and every day.

At the time of his death, he was survived by his brothers, Father Lawrence Bacik, Richard, his sister Deborah and other family members and numerous friends. Funeral services were held at SS Peter and Paul RO Cathedral, Passaic.
