For 32 years, Albert worked for Johnson Bronze Corporation. He later retired as the Director of Supplies for the New Castle Area School District. He also served his country as a member of the 278th Field Artillery in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. He was a former member of the New Castle School Board and was one of the founders of Pop Warner Football and Kids Inc.
In addition to his wife, Albert is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Greer and husband Phil J. of Pittsburgh, PA, and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James, Charles, and Frank Padula; and sisters, Anna Costello, Mary Ascione, Josephine Russo, and Maxine Cherozzi.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct military rites Tuesday at 7:00pm at the funeral home. A procession will leave the funeral home Wednesday at 9:30am to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Vitus Church.
Interment will take place in St. Vitus Cemetery.
