ALTON P FITZROY SR WAS HAWLEY SELECTMAN
Hawley - Alton P Fitzroy Sr., 74, of Forge Hill Road, West Hawley, once a member of the Board of Selectmen and Board of Assessors, died Wednesday at home.
A native of Savoy, he lived here 34 years and was a retired welder.
He was a member of Union Lodge of Odd Fellows, and Second Congregational Church.
Besides his wife, the former Irene Phelps, he leaves a son Herbert H of West Chesterfield, N.H.; three daughters Elizabeth Grey of Dexter, N.Y., Shirley Snet of North Manchester, Ind. and Linda Raymond of Plymouth, Conn.; three sisters Anita Freye of New Ashford, Edna Rabouinof Hancock and Elena Fitzroy of Hampden; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Saturday at Smith and Kelleher Funeral Home, Shelburne Falls, with burial in Leavitt Cemetery, Charlemont. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Catherine Sexto, Pioneer Bank, 1 Federal St., Greenfield.
