HARTLAND – John H. Currier, Jr., 75, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016.
John grew up in the Cleveland suburb of South Euclid, Ohio where he graduated from Charles F. Brush High School. He lived in Charlevoix, Michigan where he worked at Medusa Cement Company from 1971 to 1990 in Shipping and Receiving. John also served four years in the U. . Coast Guard as Petty Officer Second Class.
John met Sylvia Angel in 2001 and moved to Maine to be together. They were married in 2004. Many summer days were spent camping with friends and family, or boating on the lake. John and Sylvia had many wonderful adventures together. A favorite trip of John's was an Alaskan cruise. John was an avid collector of Lionel Trains. He and friends attended many train shows across the country.
John was a Second Section Unit member at the Anah Shrine in Bangor. He also volunteered at the Anna Shrine Circus. He was a member of the Tri-County Shrine Club and Anah Temple Camping Club.
John was predeceased by his adoptive parents Jean and John H. Currier Sr., the mother of his children Nancy (McDermott) Currier and two sisters.
John is survived by his loving wife Sylvia Angel-Currier; his daughters, Brenda Currier of Denver, Colorado and Tammy Currier of Cleveland, Ohio; her two sons and their wives Lucas and Dawn Angel of Corinna, (two grandchildren Paige and Dylan Angel who will miss "Little Grandpa"), Jason Angel and Patricia Robinson-Angel of Ontario, Canada.
A graveside committal service will be planned in the spring at Pine Grove Cemetery, Hartland.
