El Dorado - Richard Wesley Bangs SR. Age 83, passed away at LakePoint Nursing Home in El Dorado on September 24, 2014.
Richard was born March 5, 1931, in Madison, Kansas to James and Otus Pearl (McVey) Bangs. He attended college at VOTECH. After graduation, he worked at Sears in sales and then managed the Senior Center in Lomita, California with his wife.
He married Nelda Fankhauser on April 23, 1950 in Eureka, KS. They established their home in El Dorado, KS. He served his country in the United States Navy. Richard loved to fish and enjoyed being at his home with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nelda;
*one son, Richard W. Bangs Jr. and wife Marilyn of Spring Hill, KS;
*three daughters,
Sigrid and husband James Oriley of California,
Lisa Ann and husband Ronald Armagost of Fairview, AR, and Dana Elaine Mamaril of El Dorado, KS;
******7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, James and Pearl Bangs; and his Grandmother June McVey who raised him.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no services at this time.
