Mrs. Lila Long passed peacefully into her Savior's arms on Wednesday, January 27, 2016.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial following in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends Friday, January 29, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Dr. Jimmy Asbell officiating.
Mrs. Long retired from The Bibb Company following a career of over 40 years. She was an active member of Lynmore Methodist Church and the Ever Ready Sunday School class. Following the church's closing in 2004, she became a member of Ingleside Methodist Church.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Elliott Long; her sister, Doris Newton; and brother, Harold McDonald.
Her survivors include her daughter and son in law, Carolyn and Larry McLendon of Macon; her beloved grand-daughters, Megan McLendon Jones and her husband, David of Charleston, SC, and Mallory McLendon and her fiancé Kyle Huff of Macon. Her surviving sisters include Lucy Lanier of Stockbridge, Grace Harper of Baxley and Lois Harless of Lake City, FL, and her step-son, Billy Long and his wife Ann, of Macon. She was also an aunt to several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Bolingreen Health & Rehab for the excellent care and compassion shown to her.
