This is a very unusual grave marker. It stands approximately 11 feet high and looks like a tree trunk. Roots appearing from the bottom, bark like sculpture all around the tree. Tablet of raised relief with husband and wife information on this. Stumps of broken branches appear to hang from the tree. Buried with H.H. is wife, C.A. Helmuth.
Harmon Henry a/k/a Henry Helmuth was born in Hanover, Germany. He was a resident of Dearborn County, Indiana from 1840 until the family moved to Minnesota. On 01 MAR 1857 in Dearborn County, Indiana, he married Celestia Rich, who was born in Indiana. The ceremony was performed by Ezra Ferris, Minister of the Gospel.
