Carl Steven Kortes, Sr., age 61 of Rockwall, TX, passed away October 23, 2015. He was born December 16, 1953, in Northampton, MA, to Carl and Irene (Shedlock) Kortes. Carl moved to Rockwall in 2003. He was a Christian and a devoted family man. A very hard worker, Carl began bridge and highway construction in 1975 and was currently Director of Operations for Webber, LLC, a leading construction subsidy of Ferrovial Inc. He loved traveling, being in the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, camping, mountain biking, skiing, motorcycling, golfing, sports and any adventure that included his sons. He lived life to the fullest. Carl is survived by his wife: Karen Leonard Kortes; sons: Carl Steven Kortes, Jr. "C.J." and fiancée Bella Geyvandova, and John Leonard Kortes and wife Bailee Ann; nephew: Nathan Pedersen; and a host of loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Lynn, stepfather Timothy Kelleher, and nephew Jamie Pedersen.
