ATWOOD -- Patricia A. Makings, 78, died Friday (Sept. 8, 2006) at Longmont United Hospital TCU in Longmont, Colo.

She was born July 4, 1928, to Clarence William and Gladys Innes Beamgard in Atwood. She attended Atwood Grade School and graduated from Atwood High School. She received her teaching degree from Denver University in Denver, Colo., and returned to Atwood, where she taught country school.

On Feb. 20, 1949, she married Dale Palmer Makings in Atwood. She was employed at Williams Brothers Grocery Store, Ben Franklin, and managed the Dairy Bar. In 1973, the family moved to Longmont, where she worked at the Corner Pantry Market and 1st National Bank.

She was a charter member of the Theta Kappa service club of Atwood.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her ex-husband; one brother, Don Beamgard; and a sister-in-law, Theresa Beamgard.

Survivors include her son, Randy and significant other, Kelly Lewis of Driggs, Idaho; two daughters, Becky Lang and husband, Carey of Atwood and Sally Lucarelll of Longmont, Colo.; two brothers, Rod and Bill and wife, Jean all of Atwood; one sister-in-law, June Beamgard; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the United MEthodist Church, with the Rev. Terry McGuire and the Rev. David Jones officiating. Inurnment will be in the Atwood Fairview Cemetery.

Memorials may be given in her name and will be designated at a later date.

There is no visitation, her body was cremated.
