Originally from Port Huron, St. Clair County, Michigan, Jodi Lynn Bartmess found her way to Los Angeles. She wanted to see the "bright lights" of the city. She was found lying in a parking lot in the 16100 block of Hart Street in Van Nuys after having been stabbed 30 times. Jodi had been dumped there just before midnight on April 1, 1990, while she was still alive.
