Nelda Whitson Doss, 82, of Trimble, Tennessee died on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at her residence in Trimble, Tennessee.
Born Wednesday, September 2, 1936 in Jackson, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Robert Temple Siler and the late Viola Fay Radford Siler. She was a home-maker and assisted with the family farming operation. Mrs. Doss was a member of the Trimble United Methodist Church, Co-founder of the Trimble Area Women's Civic Club, member of the Trimble Library Book Club and past member of the Dyer County Community Chorus and Orchestra.
Funeral services for Mrs. Doss will be 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 22, 2018, at the Trimble United Methodist Church. Officiating this service will be Rev. Marti Bunch, Rev. John "Buck" Carroll and Mr. Michael Arguello. Interment will follow in Pierce Cemetery in Trimble, Tennessee. Visitation will be on Friday, September 21, 2018, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home and on Saturday from 1:00 PM until service time at the Trimble United Methodist Church in Trimble, Tennessee.
She is survived by three sons, Michael Robert Whitson (Bonnie) and Richard Wynne Whitson (Kathy) all of Trimble, Tennessee and Randall Arthur "Randy" Whitson of Isle of Capri, Flordia; one daughter, Margaret Fay Prater (Dennis) of Trimble, Tennessee; one-step-son, David Andrew Doss (Robin) of Columbia, Tennessee; two sisters, Nina Siler Hephren of Bradenton, Flordia and Nita Mae Dunivant of Trimble, Tennessee; six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her two husbands, Robert Mitt "Bobby" Whitson and Horace T. Doss and one sister, Nancy Fay Siler.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Pope, Justin Ferguson, Brian Pope, Elvis Sturdivant, Corey Murray, Terry Parker, Brady Fisher, Temis Watson. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Donaldson and Charlie Harrington.
The family ask that memorial contributions be directed to the Trimble United Methodist Church, 308 East Mitchell Street, Trimble, Tennessee 38259 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-9959.
