We little thought, the enviest King,
Would His destroying arrows fling,
and lay thee in thy tomb.
o Lord, how transient was his stay,
Thus as a vapour passed away,
Death nipped his vernal bloom.
A loving dad, true and kind,
No friend on earth like him we find,
On earth he toiled, in heaven he rests,
They miss him the most who loved him the best.
