Darrel Wayne Abshier, 79 year old resident of Colcord, Oklahoma, died December 30, 2014 at Circle of Life Hospice Home, Springdale, Arkansas. Born February 8, 1935 in Morrow, Arkansas, he was the son of Roscoe Abshier and Irene Loftin Abshier.
Darrel married Dorothy McWilliams on August 26, 1960 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas. Darrel was a self-employed building contractor for 20 years before becoming a dairy farmer for 20 years.
Darrel was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Wanda Ball; and one brother, Merle Dean Abshier.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Abshier of the home; three daughters: Gayla Carlson and husband Linn, Janna Snodgrass and husband Jim, and Treva Watkins and husband Greg, all of Siloam Springs; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one brother, Bill Abshier of Rogers, Arkansas; and one sister, Phyllis Rock and husband Jim of Stilwell, Oklahoma.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2015 at The Pointe, 1025 A South Maxwell Street, Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
