Irene Cox, age 88, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2016.
Mrs. Cox was born on April 23, 1927 in Cartersville, GA, daughter of the late John Cupp and Leila Bryant Cupp.
Mrs. Cox was a giving, loving and kind wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her children and great-grandchildren were the light in her world and she loved to spend time cooking for them. She also enjoyed sewing and listening to gospel music. She was a very soft spoken woman who was always found with a smile on her face and a willing hand to anyone around her in need. She was a true and faithful servant of the Lord and a proud and active member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. She truly touched everyone she knew and is now smiling even bigger as she once again holds the hand of her husband and walks with her sisters, as she looks down lovingly on her children and grandchildren. She is already missed, but will never be forgotten.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William J. Cox; twin sister, Christine Howell; sister, Lanelle Cox; nephew, Jimmy Howell; nieces, Darlene Bagley and Julie Cox.
