Mr. Donald Ray Nance, Sr., 75 of 212 Jackson Street, Salemburg, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
Mr. Nance was born July 3, 1940 in Sampson County and is preceded in death by his parents, John D. and Ida Autry Nance; two sons, Don Nance and Glenn Nance; and several brothers and sisters.
He was a lifetime member of Roseboro Rescue Squad, a member of Salemburg Fire Department for over 47 years, and was a Salemburg Town Commissioner. He worked for 29 years as the Laundry Manager with the N.C. Department of Corrections and then worked with Royal Trustworthy Hardware Store.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Howell Nance of the home.
