Chapel Rites for Ruth Waterman
Funeral services were Wednesday for Mrs. Ruth N. Waterman who died February 12, 1977 at the Valley County Hospital in Ord. She was 68. The funeral rites were held at the Ord Memorial Chapel at 2 pm. Burial was in the Ord City Cemetery.
Mrs. Waterman was born May 27, 1908 in Seward County, NE to Jess and Mable Meyers, Myers. She moved with her parents to Ord at an early age and attended school at the Spring Creek rural school. Ruth was united in marriage to Russell Waterman March 12, 1929 at St. Paul. They made their home on a farm near Ord until 1951 when they moved to Grand Island. While in Grand Island, she was employed at the Soldiers and Sailors Home and the Grand Island Ordinance Plant. Mr. Waterman died July 18, 1970. Since then she had made her home in Grand Island and Ord, one year at the Ord Rest Home and the past year at the Valley County Hospital.
Survivors include two sons, Don and Marvin both of Grand Island; 10 grandchildren; two half-brothers, Marion Myers of Inman and Joe Myers of Kearney. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
