A native of Elizabethton, TN, she had resided in Buncombe County for the past 51 years. She was formerly employed with Plastic Form and was a member of Lake Hills Church.
Mrs. Allen was a daughter of the late William Frank "Bringer" Hart and Ida Melissa Jones Hart and was also preceded in death by 8 brothers and 3 sisters.
She was survived by her husband whom she married July 30, 1964, Phil Allen of the home; daughters, Cindy Klutz and husband Mike of Candler and Missy Smith and husband Greg of Asheville; grandchildren: Zachary Klutz and wife Sarah and Nathan Klutz and wife Ashley all of Candler, Tanner Smith of Asheville, and Starr Smith and husband David of Leicester; great grandchildren, Rylan Klutz and Kennedy Klutz both of Candler; sisters, Annabelle Webb, Beulah Garrison and husband Jerry and Louise Sheffield and husband Clarence all of Tennessee and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 PM Monday, February 1, 2016 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. James I. Walker officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
