Born September 17, 1922 in London, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Levi and Louisa (Asher) Pennington.
He was a retired Farmer, a member of the Canton United Methodist Church, served during WW II as a Seaman 1st Class in the U.S. Navy and was the oldest living WW II veteran in Washington County. He married June 26, 1942 to Lorene M. (Box) Pennington, who passed away December 4, 2004.
Survivors include: 3 Sons: Rickie D. (Betty) Pennington and Robert L. (Nancy Poe) Pennington of Salem and Jerry L. (Barbara) Pennington of Pekin. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 1 son, Barry Joe Pennington, 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Tuesday at Dawalt Funeral Home.
Interment at Bunker Hill Cemetery with full military honors.
