He is survived by his wife who was Helen Lubsen, and one daughter; his father and mother and a brother.
He was a member of the American Legion, having served in the army as an enlisted man. Before his discharge in December 1918 he contracted a severe cold which developed into influenza from which he never fully recovered.
Since coming to Narrowsburg he was very much interested in local activities. In 1922 he received the Republican nomination for supervisor, and last fall he was nominated for town clerk. He was the collector of school taxes at the time of his death. The body was taken to Flushing, the home of his parents, for burial." from the Sullivan County Record
