Poppie Rigney Allen, 85 of Chatham passed away February 4, 2016 at Danville Regional Medical Center. Born September 22, 1930 in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of Bertha Rigney. She was twice married, first to the late Berkley Pruitt and then to the late Marion “Mike” S. Allen. She was also predeceased by one son, Joel Pruitt; three brothers, Clinton Rigney, Otis Rigney and Lonnie Rigney; a sister, Thelma. She was a member of Museville Christian Church. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Falls(Jerry) and Pauline Hedrick(Earnest); a sister, Gladys Pruitt; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be conducted February 8, 2016 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by her grandson, Pastor Eric Pruitt.
