COEYMANS Frederick H. "Hooker" Alberts, 62, passed away suddenly at home on Monday, June 16, 2014, with his loving family by his side. Fred was the son of the late Frederick and Edith Alberts. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. Fred retired in 2012 after 38 years of service with the railroad in Selkirk. He was an avid sports fan, New York Yankees, New York Giants and NASCAR driver Jimmy Johnson. He was a past member of the Coeymans Fire Co., R-C Sportsman Club and enjoyed fishing and camping with his friends. Survivors include his siblings, Darleen (Corky) Westervelt, Shirley (John) Gransbury, Larry (Donna) Alberts and Kim (Steve) Sebert; beloved cousin, Shirleen (Dean) Kreplin; loving goddaughter, Lauren E. Sebert; 16 nieces and nephews; and many great- nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m., on Thursday, June 19, 2014, at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday prior to the service starting at 4 p.m. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Contributions in memory of Fred may be made to the charity of your choice.
