Clementina was born in Alvito, the oldest of 6 children. Her father was Pasquale Pellecchia, her mother was Santa Ioli.
She married Giovanni Di Fazio when he returned to Italy after becoming a citizen, and then returned to America with him. She was 20 years old when she arrived in the U.S.
Clementina was a very hard working lady. She had only one year of formal schooling in Italy but was a very intelligent woman who loved to sew, tell stories of her life in Italy, laugh, and in her later years, listen to soap operas on television.
She began to lose her eyesight at the age of 42, likely from being diabetic, and was completely blind by the age of 62.
She moved to Cleveland at 83 years of age after breaking her hip, and lived with her daughter Anna and her husband Angelo Lombardi.
She died one month before her 90th birthday.
