Baby Girl of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Boyns Scalded
Eureka, Juab Co., Sept. 21, GERTRUDE, the 13-month-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Boyns, died Saturday from the effects of burns received Wednesday. The accident happened while Mrs. Boyns was cooking some doughnuts for dinner. She left the kitchen for a few minutes leaving a kettle of hot lard on the stove. The baby was sitting near the stove playing, when the youngest son ran by the stove and knocked the kettle off, throwing the hot grease all over the little one, burning her hands, face and shoulders in a terrible manner. The little girl lingered until Saturday, suffering intense agony, when death came to her relief. The funeral services were held from the family residence this afternoon at 2 O'clock, and the interment was made in the Eureka Cemetery.
