OSWALD, Irene Annie (nee Bamford) Born July 13, 1913 in Sutherland, Saskatchewan, Irene passed away at Glengarry Hospital in Victoria, B.C. on August 14, 2006 in her 93rd year. She is predeceased by her husband, Robert and her sister, Winnifred. She is lovingly remembered by her two daughters, brother, Howard; 4 grandchildren and by 3 great-grandchildren. She began a career as a teacher in a one-room schoolhouse in Livelong, Saskatchewan. When her parents moved to Victoria, she soon followed and took up her second career by enrolling in St. Joseph's School of Nursing, graduating in 1941. In 1942 she began her third career that embraced the rest of her life -that of a beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, aunt, grandmother, greatgrandmother and friend to many. We would like to thank the staff of the Victorian on Feltham, where Mom resided prior to moving to Glengarry Hospital, for providing friendly and supportive assistance in her later years. Very special thanks are extended to the staff of Fairfield-Unit B of Glengarry Hospital who provided compassionate and understanding care during this past year. We will always be grateful to Dr. D.L. Woodburn for his exceptional care of Mom given with such kindness and respect. A memorial service, conducted by Archdeacon W.E. Greenhalgh, will be held at First Memorial Funeral Services, 4725 Falaise Crescent on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. 283213
