Willard Duane "Dimp" Scruggs, age 78, of Splendora, Texas, passed away December 2, 1997 after a lengthy illness. He was born December 20, 1918 to William F. and Effie Gay Scruggs at Ponca City, Oklahoma. His mother passed away and he was brought to Birta, Yell County, AR when he was six months old to be raised by his grandparents, John and Mary E. Marcum. Among his survivors is his wife of 55 years, Jaunita Scruggs. Interment in San Jacinto Memorial Park; arrangements Woodforest Funeral Home.
