She was born Dec. 17, 1932, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Daris Gail and Jessie (Davis) Corbin. She attended public school in Morgantown and graduated from Morgantown High School in 1951.
On June 9, 1951, she married Charles Lester Lantz at St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Oakland, Md. They were married for 51 years when he passed away in 2002.
As a young woman, she was well known in the Morgantown area for her dancing skills and taught dance for many years at Virginia School of Dance in Morgantown. She and her husband, Charlie, were charter members of the Beau Monde Dance Club in Morgantown.
Although her most important job was that of homemaker, wife and mother, she also taught for many years at the Tiny Tyke Kindergarten in Westover, and provided private child care in her home.
She was a Protestant by faith and most recently attended the Kingdom Evangelical Methodist Church in Westover.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Charlie, she was predeceased by two brothers, Russell and Donald Corbin.
She is survived by a daughter, Charlotte, and her husband, Edward Zuckerman, of Hoover, Ala., and a son, Charles (Chuck) Lantz, and his wife, Janice, of Greensburg, Pa.; three grandchildren, Haley and Collin Zuckerman of Hoover, and Olivia Lantz of Greensburg; one sister, Thelma Berkshire, and her husband, Bill, of Westover, and several nieces and nephews
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Wednesday and on Thursday from 10:00am until the 11:00 am funeral service with Rev. Kevin Cain officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery.
