He was also a member of the Missouri Pilots Club and past president of the International Flying Farmers, Illinois Flying Farmer Aircraft Association, American Legion, and the VFW. He was a retired U.S. Air Force major and had served in World War II.
He was born July 4, 1911 in Mulberry KS the son of William R. and Bessie Weckum Schooley. He was married to the former Lena LaSusa in 1936 in Marion. Survivors include his wife, Lena, three sisters, Mrs. Genevieve Rankin of Foster MO, Mrs. Audrey Klinksick of Perry City MO and Mrs. Edlyn Stoddard of Rich Hill MO and two brothers, Warren of Hot Springs SD and Bill of Plainview NY.
