He served at Yorktown Naval Weapons Station from 1963-1965 and began his career as an aeronautical engineer at Cape Canaveral. He completed degrees from Georgia Tech and Georgia State University in engineering and accounting, was chief financial officer for Atlanta's Motor Convoy & Allied Systems, and was a professional accountant for Omni's Atlanta Civic Center. He was a leader in the Decatur Kiwanis and Gideon's International. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Marilyn; two daughters Kimberly Dias (John) and Kristen Sleboda (Thomas); three grandchildren, Sarah, Sean and David Sleboda, and brother, Donald Robert.
