Samuel R . Sheriff, 83, of Ickesburg died Thursday in Perry Village Nursing Home, New Bloomfield. He retired as owner of the former Sheriff's Garage; had been a farmer; was a former employee of a Harrisburg Hudson dealership and Sinclair Oil Co.; and a member of Ickesburg United Church of Christ, Ickesburg Fire Company and the Ickesburg Ambulance Club. He was the widower of M. Joyce Reisinger Sheriff. Surviving are two sons, Donald S. of New Cumberland, W.Va., and L. Gene of Ickesburg; a daughter, Carol J. Stahl of Loysville RR 2; a brother, Joseph C. of Mechanicsburg; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville. Burial will be in Buffalo Cemetery.
