Ida M Jones Dead
Monday, February 4, 1924, occurred the death of Mrs. Ida M Jones at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bessie West in Kansas City, Mo., at the age of 59 years. The body was brought back to her home in Corning on Tuesday and funeral services were held from the Christian church on Wednesday, conducted by Rev. E S Menoher, pastor of the Methodist church. The body was taken to Griswold for burial. The lady was the wife of Frank Jones of Des Moines, and to them three children were born, all of whom survive. They are Mrs. Bessie West of Kansas City, Daniel of Corning and Phil of Des Moines, all being in attendance at the funeral. Besides she leaves three sisters and one brother and many friends to mourn her passing. Mrs. J Jones was a member of the Christian church of this city which has been the home of her family for many years.--Adams County Free Press.
The remains were brought to Griswold Wednesday by auto and it was nearly dark when the funeral party arrived here. Mrs. Jones will be remembered by many of the older residents of Griswold as Miss Ida Geiger, daughter of the late Mr and Mrs John Geiger, who passed away several years ago. Interment was made by the side of the parents in the Griswold cemetery.
