Newton- Mrs. Thomas (Fie Elizabeth Gass) Clark, 71 of Pesotum, formerly of Jasper County, died at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 1984, at Burnham City Hospital, Champaign.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Pulliam funeral Home, Newton.

Mrs. Clark was born Jan, 26, 1912, in Jasper County, the daughter of Alvie and Martha (Heady) Gass. She married Thomas Clark in 1946. He died in 1982.

Surviving are her son, Robert Green of San Bernadino, Calif.; stepson, Chester Clark of Newton; daughters, Mrs. Leroy (Bertha) Westendorf of Pesotum, Mrs. Dewayne (Nellie) Alvis of Bluford, Mrs. Caroll (Thelma) Taylor of Woodstock, Ga., Mrs. Donald (Lois) Hooper of Chula, Mo.; stepdaughter, Mrs. Robert (Rose Helen) Fillinger of Brenham, Texas; brother, Robert Gass of Martinsville; half brother, Tracy Ball of Newton; sister, Nellie Stockwell of Newton; half sister, Ethel Heady of Newton; nine grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a half brother.
