Approximately two weeks after he and his wife had arrived from their home at Westboro to spend the winter at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Krueger, Charles Etzer, 82, father of Mrs. Krueger, died of a heart attack Nov. 12. He had been suffering with the ailment for the past two or three years.

A funeral service was conducted at the Krueger home by Rev. H. Vande Castle. The funeral party lest to escort the remains to Westboro, where a services was held in the Catholic Church followed by burial in Mount Olive cemetery.

Mr. Etzler, for nearly 20 years a resident of Manitowoc County was born of German and Bohemian parentage in Germany, Nov. 19, 1853 and when 10 years old came to America with his parents, who settled in the vicinity of Cato. He was married in 1877 to Caroline Braun, and for 42 years Mr. and Mrs. Etzler were residents of Reedsville. During this time he served as clerk of the town of Rockland and before the incorporation of Reedsville as a village and as justice of the peace and notary public for many years, numerous documents governing real estate holdings in that area bear his signature.

He is survived by his widow; four daughters; Miss Mary Etzler, at home; Mrs. Emma Hlavachek, Milwaukee; Mrs. Adolph Grimm, of Reedsville; and Mrs. Leonard Krueger of Forest Jct., two sons, Chas. J. Etzler, of Madison; and Bert Etzler of Westboro; and one sister, Mrs. Barbara Kirch, Reedsville.
