Mary E. Bihm, 89, of Newburgh, Ind., passed away at 12:22 p.m. Sunday, February 14, 2016 at her home.
Mary was born August 26, 1926 in Crofton, Ky., the daughter of the late Benjamin and Mona (Bowles) Cavanah.
Mary attended Crofton High School where she was a cheerleader. After graduation, she received her accounting degree from Lockyear Business College. Mary worked for McMurtry Martin Paper Company as their executive secretary for 29 years before retirement, and was past president of American Business Women's Association. Mary was a member of Daughters of the Nile for 50 plus years, past president and treasurer of Lady Elks and a member of Toast Masters for several years. She played in the neighborhood bridge club for over 60 years and was a member of First Baptist Church for 40 plus years, where she served on several boards.
She is survived by sons, Paul Bihm (Jeanne) of Evansville and Robert "Bob" Bihm (Lisa) of Newburgh, Ind.; grandchildren, David Bihm (Kim), Brittany Bihm Patton and Michael Hagan; great-grandchildren, Nichole and Brandon Bihm, Mattie and Marie Patton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 51 years, Paul R. Bihm, Jr. in 1999; and siblings, Martha Lou West and Robert Cavanah.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel-A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, with Pastor Steve Claspell officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2016 and Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m. at Boone Funeral Home - East Chapel.
